We went public today!

Ringing the bell this morning at the New York Stock Exchange to announce our initial public offering was an exciting milestone for LendingClub.

With the slogan “Better Rates, Together” we really wanted to celebrate our borrowers and investors and make them (you!) the hero of the day. In a first for the NYSE, we’ve turned the facade of the stock exchange into a giant video screen and we’re inviting anyone visiting Wall Street to participate. We wanted to take the opportunity to showcase real people, our existing and future customers.

Each of the 15 monitors is made up of 9 panels. Each panel weighs 22 pounds, so each of the 15 monitors weighs almost 200 lbs., and all 15 together—with all of the rigging and electrical equipment needed to install them—weigh almost 7,500 pounds. The design was inspired by our gratitude to all of the people who have supported us and contributed to our success over the years.

Thank you to all of you for helping us reach this important milestone and become the largest online marketplace connecting borrowers and investors. We’re grateful to everyone who has been a part of our journey thus far, and we look forward to welcoming more people to the “Better Rates, Together” Club.
