LendingClub Named a CNBC Top 50 Disruptor for a Second Year

June 17, 2014

For the second year in a row, Lending Club’s been named to CNBC’s Disruptor 50 list! We are humbled and honored to be ranked among “the country’s most ambitious and innovative companies” that CNBC believes are “changing the economy and overall business landscape.”

We will continue to strive to help borrowers and investors achieve their financial goals by creating a more cost-efficient and customer-friendly alternative to the traditional banking lending system, and are grateful for the trust hundreds of thousands of borrowers and investors have placed in us. We look forward to becoming more useful to more people as we continue to expand.

CNBC evaluated 522 companies from around the world that were nominated by venture capital firms and accelerators against criteria that included the founder’s track record, financial backing, estimated size of the company’s addressable market and the originality of the company’s business model. Additionally, a panel of academics that specialize in entrepreneurship and innovation helped CNBC’s editorial staff weigh the benchmarks that were used to score and rank each company.
