Lending Club Blog

Posted by :: February 12, 2010 @ 1:19 pm

Late next week, we will be unveiling a new visual identity and website design, and I am excited to give you a sneak peek.

Our new look will better express our values (trustworthy, transparent, professional yet friendly and accessible) as well as Lending Club’s commitment to innovative financial services.  Our concept is smart and simple, and our new site will reflect that.  Our goal is to make it easier and more engaging for our members to get lower rates and earn better returns.  The new site works harder to help investors better understand our concept, and the most creditworthy borrowers feel more confident in getting a loan at better terms than they would get from a traditional bank.

New Lending Club website

Our new site offers existing members the same great functionality to track your loan or investments, and will make it easier to develop new features going forward.

We hope you enjoy our new face.  Check back in a week for full access to our redesigned website!

I really like the new website look. The new logo also gives a
different "feel" to the business....more financial vs. web 2.0. I
like it. I think it will resonate better with older more
    established investors.

Good for you! I am really looking forward to seeing this in action.
Lending Club's current identity was definitely overdue for a
refreshing and this is exactly the kind of look to take it to the
next level. In this humble graphic designer's opinion, you've done
a lot of things right from what i can see on this screenshot. Also
i love how the logo efficiently describes lending club. its really
    quite ingenious despite its simplicity.

  3. Misha:

Change is always good. Hopefully this is done to improve the
interface, although I liked the old interface a lot. Will there be
an option to switch to the new look or is it going to be a one big
    push for everybody?

  4. Daniel:

While I look forward to the redesign, I am wondering if any
functionality will be lost. In my experience, websites usually take
the opportunity of a redesign to alter some of the attributes of
the user experience. In my case, as a lender, I make use of tools
such as the statistics information you make available. Will that be
    going away with this redesign?

I've alerted several people about this, and we all are anxiously
    awaiting the full launch.

  9. CoronaHomes:

The new look has a great feel to it, can’t wait to see it live. The
logo has a real strong impression as well.

  10. Mike:

In addition to the cosmetic changes, make the site faster.

  11. Frumpulent Grumpton:

Great! So when will Texans be able to lend again? I keep taking my
money out since, being in Texas, I can't start new loans.

  12. Piyush:

    Nice!

  13. TM:

Hi Rob, In the next revision of lending club, will you be doing
anything in the life insurance space? Some sort of agregator or
"powered by" might draw some interest. The sight looks good and
seems like "Bankrate" meets "Kiva". Good stuff,

  14. Eric:

I have been watching for a week, but still nothing new? I am
excited to see what you have in store for us.

  15. Finance Management:

Hi there. I'm fairly new to this site but I'm loving the community
    here.

  16. Jeff:

Looking forward to the changes ahead... Good luck with the launch
and know I'll be watching with great anticipation.

  17. greg g:

congrats on the launch of the new design. i haven't noticed any
issues with functionality, it was a pretty seamless transition for
me so well done. i have a minor issue with the background at the
edges and bottom of page. its like this military camo green that is
kind of a drag to look at. the site should be fading to less
depressing color. i am a self admitted design snob though, so maybe
    its just me :)

  18. Steve Smith:

Thanks for new website. SUGGESTION: I am hoping that you will add a
"search box" to the Note Trading Platform so that after going to
original loan, we can quickly and easily return to the notes that
we want to invest in. Thanks!

  19. Jonathan W:

The new design is very good, but the background image is atrocious
(are your designer's color blind?) The background image is
ridiculous. When I first saw it, I thought it was a rendering
error. Then low and behold, I tried it on a colleague's computer
and it's the same; needless to say, we were both in disbelief. Good
job on the overall UI, ditch that background image.

  20. Investor:

It would be so nice to be able to use a credit card to fund
investments. It takes a week for the $ to be transferred from my
    bank account to Lending Club.

  21. Fajne:

Site looks better atm, i think this is change for better :)

  22. Heintzelman:

Excellent site, you got a follower this very minute

  23. Adam:

I wish I could of driven the tesla. It is a sweet car. You have
made some great changes, it is looking good.

  24. Melinda Littlefield:

I love your site re-design. I enjoyed reading your blog as well.

  25. badger:

new site design looks really good, very smooth

  26. Shiloh Street:

Rob, the new looks is awesome! Makes a big difference. :)

  27. ChicPD:

your new website design is definitely very professional looking. I
like the floating square block elements.
